Our charity family fun day on Sunday, 23 July, was a huge success raising £3,313 for Exeter Leukaemia Fund and the RD&E Charity! After a day of non-stop rain, the sun shone brightly, and everyone that came had a brilliant time.
We were delighted to see so many families come and support our event. They had plenty of activities to choose from, including a bouncy castle, face painting, kid’s football, family games, artisan stalls and a live band – The Wave Collective. We also had hot and cold refreshments and a prize raffle with some fantastic prizes donated by Exeter’s local business community.
We’d like to thank everyone who donated prizes, volunteered, booked a trade stand and joined in the fun. We plan to make this an annual event, so if you missed out this year, we’ll be back bigger and better in 2024!
Our latest fundraising efforts bring this year’s amount raised for charity to over £13,500. In September last year, we completed a tandem skydive and hosted a charity quiz night with a prize auction raising £2,425 for the RD&E Starfish Appeal. And in December, our annual Christmas gift appeal generated approximately £8,000 worth of brand-new toys and gifts, which went to seven Exeter-based charities.
